To earn the $40 Wellness Credit, you must complete one annual physical exam during the year prior to the start of the benefit year. Your insurance covers one physical exam per year, which can be completed through Marathon Health or your primary care provider (PCP).

Time-Period for Completing the Physical Exam

Your physical exam must be completed between October 1 and September 30, prior to the start of the benefit year and you must get the Annual Physical Verification Form signed by your medical practioner.

Examples:

• 2024 Benefit Year (October 1, 2024 – September 30, 2025): Complete your annual physical between October 1, 2023, and September 30, 2024, to earn the premium reduction starting October 1, 2024.
• 2025 Benefit Year (October 1, 2025 – September 30, 2026): Complete your annual physical between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025, to earn the premium reduction starting October 1, 2025.

FAQs

What if I am hired during the Benefit Year? Can I still receive the credit?

Yes, new employees hired on or after September 1, are automatically grandfathered into the program. Once you get your physical, you will be compliant for the current and upcoming benefit year.

I’ve worked for the City for two years but forgot to get my physical this year. Can I go now and still receive the $40 Wellness Credit?

Unfortunately, the credit cannot be applied retroactively. You will not receive the $40 credit for the current Benefit Year. However, completing your physical now will ensure you are compliant and eligible for the credit in the next Benefit Year.

This convenient, on-site wellness center is close to work, reducing the time it takes to address healthcare issues, as well as reducing leave hours needed. The CORE Wellness Center will be staffed by a Family Nurse Practitioner and Medical Assistant from Healthstat clinical providers. The center can provide health services to all full-time City employees, former employees on the medical plan via COBRA, and part-time employees covered on the medical insurance plan.

One of the recurring requests made through the Employee Wellness Survey in fall 2015 was that staff would like to have access to a variety of group fitness classes. Thankfully, the City of Roswell already has a very talented group of fitness instructors on our Recreation and Parks' staff, and with their help and commitment, we are able to deliver a variety of free fitness classes to our employees.

Group fitness classes are offered on a weekly basis. They are held at varying times and locations throughout the City. For more information on when and where these group fitness classes will be held, please refer to the group fitness flyer.

Signing Up for Fitness Classes

Space will be limited and attendance will be taken. Part-time employees are encouraged to sign up for group fitness, but priority will be given to full-time employees.

Upon sign-up, you will receive either a confirmation email explaining that you have saved your position in the class, or a message explaining that you are on a waiting list for a particular class (please allow 48 hours to receive this email).

If you Are Unable to Attend Class

If you know ahead of time that you will be absent for a particular session please let me know. Those employees who incur two consecutive absences, without notifying Hydee Weis beforehand, will lose their position in the class; the next available employee will take their place.

In line with our continued support and encouragement of our employees as they strive towards goals of improved fitness, health and wellness, the City of Roswell proudly announces this new wellness benefit available to our full-time employees. Any full-time City employee can apply for reimbursement of up to $25 per race/fitness competition, not to exceed two races in a fiscal year, and as long as funds are available.

How It Works:

1. Register and pay for an eligible race or fitness competition
2. Remember, you can receive one reimbursement per period:
   1. Period 1: July 1 – December 31
   2. Period 2: January 1 – June 30
3. Keep a copy of your registration and payment receipt
4. Successfully complete the race/competition. Congratulations!!!
5. Within 14 days of successfully completing the race/competition, turn in a completed reimbursement packet: Race/Fitness Reimbursement Form, proof of registration and payment, and copy of race/competition bib
6. Wait for your reimbursement check of up to $25
7. Do it again during the next reimbursement period!

• Trail Races
• Bike Races
• Triathlon, Iron-Man
• Obstacle Course Races
